Lansdowne Channel is our home & it is a well known boating area which is at the entrance of the Bay & fills with passing sailing yachts and power cruisers during the summer months.

It was first discovered in the late 1700’s by French Canadian Voyageurs (also known as the Coureurs de Bois) who paddled their ten-man birch-bark canoes all the way from Montreal to Lake Superior in order to trade fur with the Natives.

These Voyageurs entered Georgian Bay at the mouth of the French River and then ventured north into this channel.

Since then … the landscape here has not changed much- natural and beautiful .
