Our island is known as known as “Nopeming Retreat” – translated meaning is “Island of Rest“ in Ojibwe.

This site has extensive history and was established at the time of World War II as a hunting camp and the deer of the area were shipped to England – to help with the meat shortage at the time.

If, these walls could talk what stories they would reveal – we started out as a trapper’s cabin – a real trade at the time with such history!

We offer five structures on site– all with metal roofs and metal siding- low maintenance!

Our main structure is the camp that is off the grid with a small solar system, wood stove, battery lighting, water pumped from the lake and propane appliances.

We feature two bedrooms and extra cots in the sunroom to provide more accommodation, functional kitchen an outdoor loo with a view!

The Sauna is cedar lined and wood fired and where our sellers bathe… or jump in the lake!

The property is blessed with a variety of trees from White Pine, Red Pine, and Maple.

The transportation boat to and from the mainland is a 16’ Lund which resides at the Marina with a 25hp motor.

The transportation boat from the crown landing to the island is a smaller boat with a 15 hp motor.

The Dock has a winter lift for easy storage of the boats, all details & obstacles tackled.

The waterway also attracts many bird species from the lovable loon, geese, robin & the ever-present Sand Hill Cranes- bird watching is great!
